Are appointments necessary? Yes

Is there a fee? All interested persons must attend an orientation meeting that will cost $10.00. In addition to the orientation fee there is a fee for the actual license, administrative fee to the health department, and a city occupation tax fee payable to the Unified Government. Fees are determined based on the type of facility and licensed capacity.

Anyone who provides out of home care to children birth to 16 years of age is required by law to be licensed.

Eligibility Requirements: Wyandotte County resident, and must be high school graduate or GED holder.
